Designed for reading source code on a phone
Legible on a phone
Long lines wrap to fit the screen, so you only scroll up and down. You can enlarge or shrink the font with one tap, and the line you're reading stays in place.
Formatted automatically
The code opens indented and highlighted using the same engine as the HTML Formatter, so even minified single-line code is easy to read. The code itself doesn't change; a note at the top tells you it was formatted, and one tap switches to the raw source.
Search and jump to section
Search the code, or go straight to sections such as head, title, canonical, JSON-LD, h1 and body, or to a line number.
Fast scrolling
On pages thousands of lines long, drag the handle on the right edge to reach any part of the document in a second.
Copy, download, share
Copy all the code, download it as .html, and tap a line number to get a link to that line.
Use it like an app
Add it to your home screen; on Android, send a page straight to the viewer from the browser's “Share” menu.
Frequently asked questions
How do you view page source on a phone?
On Android, typing view-source: followed by the address in Chrome's address bar opens the raw source, but the text is tiny, lines don't wrap and searching is awkward. On iPhone, Safari has no view-source feature. With this tool you just type the address: the code opens legible, searchable and easy to scroll.
Why is the code I see different from the browser's “Inspect element” view?
Here you see the initial HTML the server sends, which is also the first document Googlebot receives. The Inspect element view shows the final state (the DOM) after JavaScript has run. Content added later with JavaScript doesn't appear in this viewer.
How do I add it to my home screen?
Android (Chrome): menu → “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”. iPhone (Safari): Share → “Add to Home Screen”. Once added, the viewer opens like an app, without browser bars.
Which user agent is used?
By default, requests use a mobile Chrome user agent; some sites send different HTML (e.g. an m. subdomain) to mobile visitors. To see the desktop version, choose “Desktop” in the form.
Are the addresses I enter saved?
Because browsers' security rules prevent reading data from other sites directly, the page is fetched through the Enar SEO server; content and addresses are not stored on the server. The “Recently opened” list is kept only in your own browser and can be cleared with one tap.
For more formatting options on desktop, use the HTML Formatter; to see how much space each part of the code takes up, use the HTML Size Analyzer.
